Catch U.S. Snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler on Conan O'Brien Wednesday

Conan likes his U.S. Ski and Snowboard athletes! Lindsey Vonn and Shaun White made their pre-Olympic rounds earlier this month and now Olympic silver medalist Gretchen Bleiler will take the Tonight Show set. Bleiler will join SNL funny guy Norm MacDonald and musical guest Dan Cummins on tomorrow's show.

For Bleiler, it's a quick stop on her way to Copper Mountain, where she'll join U.S. Snowboard Teammate Louie Vito in training for the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix. "I am super excited to be going on the Conan O'Brien show. I think he is the man and I love watching his show," Bleiler gushed. "It's going to be an awesome experience to be on the couch myself."

As for questions on the Olympics, Bleiler is ready. "I know we're going to be talking about the season ahead and the Olympics as well as the Olympic qualifiers," Bleiler said. "We also have something secret planned that would be unique and fun for the show, but I'm not sure if it will work out. Everyone will have to tune in to see."

Tareq and Michaele Salahi, part of the cast of a reality show called "The Real Housewives of DC," crashed Tuesday's state dinner at the White House. Facebook photos of the couple posing with Vice President Joe Biden and Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel indicate that the couple had up-close access to some of Washington's elite, without actually being on the guest list.

Roxanne Roberts, who first reported the story for the Washington Post, discussed the incident and the security implications on CNN:

Crashing a state dinner at the White House apparently takes a security breakdown as well as some kind of nerve.

The Secret Service is looking into its own security procedures after determining that a Virginia couple, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, managed to slip into Tuesday night's state dinner at the White House even though they were not on the guest list, agency spokesman Ed Donovan said.

President Barack Obama was never in any danger because the party crashers went through the same security screening for weapons as the 300-plus people actually invited to the dinner honoring Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Donovan said.

Donovan confirmed the identities of the couple. The Washington Post, which first reported on their evening out, said the Salahis were well-known in the Virginia horse-country set.

The Secret Service learned about the security breach Wednesday after a media inquiry prompted by the Salahis' online boasts about having attended the private event, Donovan said.

One of the many photos from the dinner posted on Michaele Salahi's Facebook page shows the couple with a smiling Vice President Joe Biden. In other photos, they appear alone or together with White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty, CBS News anchor Katie Couric, Rep. Ed Royce, R-Calif., and three Marines in their dress blues.

Donovan would not comment on whether the couple had been contacted by the Secret Service, how long they were on the White House grounds or other details of the investigation.

The agency's Office of Professional Responsibility was reviewing what occurred. An initial finding indicated that a checkpoint did not follow proper procedures to ensure the two were on the guest list, Donovan said.

"It's important to note that they went through all the security screenings - the magnetometer screening - just like all the other guests did," Donovan said. And, he added, Obama and others under Secret Service protection had their usual security details with them at the dinner.

Fans of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, are waiting with fated breath for the Tuesday final results show.

Apart from the final winner being announced viewers will also have the chance to see singing Icon Whitney Houston fresh from the American Music Awards where she was named as the International Artist of the Year.

Houston will be appearing on the show after an announcement by the producers of Dancing with the Stars today.

She will perform one her of new hits “Million Dollar Bill” and one of her classics, “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” during the second performance the trained dancers such as Mark Ballas, Tony Dovolani, Lacey Schwimmer, Anna Trebunskaya and Alec Mazo will be strutting their stuff for their final performance together.

R&B Singer Mya is poised to take out the winners title of Dancing with the Stars, especially after finishing only three points from a perfect score during Monday’s final night of competition. She also made a point that she will be claiming the mirror ball trophy saying: “I haven’t worked this hard for this long not to win this thing,” she continued “That trophy is mine.”

Mya scored an 87 out of 90 points for her three routines with professional dancer Dmitry Chaplin. The couple stunned with their perfect paso doble , and scooped when beating other couples with the mega-mix challenge. Which saw them dancing side-by-side with Donny Osmond and Kelly Osbourne.

These days there is a lot of talk about the Google Chrome Operating System. A year from now the stuff will hit the market, but experts say it will at least take 10 years before it begins to see serious enterprise adoption.

It has generated a lot of debate. IDC analyst Al Hilwa has a different take on the whole subject. He said it would take some hard selling from Google. Besides, it won’t be easy for its partners to get on netbooks, hard disk-less machines from Asus, Dell, HP and others that let users access Web applications.

Google Vice President of Product Management Sundar Pichai demonstrated the stuff at the Chrome OS launch to open source. It was showed how Chrome OS can boot in seven seconds.

That is great. It is extremely faster loading than Microsoft Windows and Apple's Mac OS X operating systems. So the question that is upsetting competitors in the industry is how has the Google managed to do this? Analysts say the target has achieved by removing or consolidating the boot processes in Chrome OS, which seems super lightweight.

Some consumers will welcome Google’s move of updating in the cloud for Chrome OS netbook users without giving them the choice. But this won’t go down well with the enterprises.

Ralph and Karen Guastaferro of Amherst came to fame in January last year for their appearance on Wife Swap in which Angie Boss from Indiana went to join Ralph and Alicia.

Now Ralph, 62, and Karen, 55, have confessed to laundering $1.2 million in a Canadian telemarketing scheme. He faces 46-57 months and she faces 16 months. They have pleaded guilty to felony charges.

But the bigger crime? Letting Alicia have not one, not two, but three cellphones on the trainwreck episode of Wife Swap.

Wife Swap said of the family the following:

“New York mom Karen Guastaferro (54) has made her home fit for a queen — a pageant queen that is. A former pageant contestant herself, Karen waits on her daughter Alicia (15) hand and foot. We do not mind spending thousands of dollars on her projects as long as they look good and she receives a good grade. I spend time at work doing any research she needs for term papers and then I give the information to Ralph to type up. If she has projects that involve design or drawing one of our staff members does them for her because they are great artists. Teachers are always very impressed with her projects and she enjoys taking credit for them. When you look as good asAlicia having brains is just an added bonus.

Alicia is constantly on her phone. She has two cell phones now but at one point we gave her three cell phones to try and keep up with all of her friends. On any given day she can receive over 150 text messages. She uses a wireless phone headset so she can talk to her friends and watch TV at the same time. We speak to her as often as we can. She calls me everyday from school at exactly 11:40 a.m. When she goes out she calls us at least once to talk casually and gossip and of course she always calls us to coordinate when she and her friends need to be picked up.

Honda Tops Again in Efficiency on U.S. Roads

Japan's Honda Motor Co Ltd (7267.T) has again produced the most fuel efficient and least polluting vehicles on American roads, the U.S. government projections for 2009 showed on Friday.

South Korea's Hyundai-Kia (005380.KS) and Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T), also based in Japan, followed closely behind, respectively, for the second straight year, according to preliminary performance data released by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Overseas automakers mainly sell compacts and sedans in the United States, while their U.S. rivals produce more pickups, SUVs and vans, which generally get poorer gas mileage and emit more tailpipe emissions.

Honda and Toyota also lead the U.S. market in gasoline/electric hybrid vehicles, the most fuel efficient and cleanest cars sold.

Total fleetwide average fuel efficiency is estimated to be virtually unchanged at 21 miles per gallon for the 2009 model year. Carbon emissions output inched down overall.

Honda's fleetwide fuel efficiency is projected to be 23.6 mpg. That would be slightly lower than the performance last year, EPA said. Honda's emissions output also ticked up slightly.

Hyundai-Kia vehicles are expected to post a 23.4 mpg rating this year, down incrementally from 2008, while Toyota rolls in at 23.2, up a bit from last year. Hyundai-Kia's emissions output moved up slightly while Toyota's fell.

The top performer from Europe was Volkswagen AG (VOWG.DE), which placed fourth out of the nine global manufacturers analyzed. Its fleet efficiency is projected at 22.8 mpg, up half-a-point from last year. Volkwagen's emissions were unchanged.

U.S. automakers will show some improvement this year, but still lag behind their Asian and European counterparts in mileage and cleaner engines.

Chrysler, which heavily features a lineup of pickups, vans and SUVs, ranks last for emissions. Chrysler also projected to fall further behind in fuel economy at 18.7 mpg, again placing last in the annual rating in both categories.

Ford Motor Co (F.N) and General Motors Co [GM.UL] both boosted fuel efficiency and lowered emissions this year, with Ford expected to register the bigger gains. Ford cars and trucks are set to average 20.5 mpg, while GM posted a 19.9 rating, the figures show.

Coupons - once reserved for the elderly and the frugal. They're now becoming more popular after the recession has everyone trying to save money. "A lot of people say they don't have time to do this type of thing, it takes a lot of time, but when you're saving an average of $200-$300 sometimes per week then the time invested then you're paying yourself $50 an hour basically to do this. And who doesn't want to save that kind of money."

Jeanine Rhea used to think cutting coupons was crazy until she saw proof of just how much it can save you. We went shopping with Jeanine and were amazed at just how much she saved. But first how it works. "We use a website called the grocerygame.com." Jeanine says "basically you go out and buy 5 newspapers every sunday. You take inserts, line up and you organize them all, wait until the item goes on sale and you have a coupon for it."

Jeanine says the grocery game does all the work for you, but sometimes you hold on to your coupons for weeks. "Until it's the right time to buy and sometimes you get items free, you end up getting some items for 25 cents when they're usually $5."

She says most places like Fry's and Albertsons will double your coupons. "If the item is say $2 and it's on sale for $1 and you have a 50 cent coupon for that item it's doubled so you get that item free. So if you buy 5 you get 5 free."

She estimates the total cost before using her fry's card or coupons, "it'll probably be about $400 and then after the coupons and discounts probably about $150 if I'm guessing right."

Jeanine's grand total $452.11 after it's all said and done she paid $140.36 for a total savings of $305.15.

Jeanine says a lot of items she buys she'll donate to the food bank or send care packages to the troops over seas.
